Il sogno di Alberto (Interactive multivision)
IL SOGNO DI ALBERTO (Interactive multivision about Alberto Depero)
vita vissuta e trasfigurazione sognata
@ Palazzo del Ben
19th March – 1st May 2011
Video installation in two acts inspired by Fortunato Depero’s cinematographic projects, from an idea developed by Paolo della Sega. A dream comes to life in the hall of honour of the Rovereto Palazzo del Ben: it is the dream of Alberto, alias chosen by Depero for the character of “Gloria conquistata”, subject of a film the artist would have liked to make to talk about himself, his life and art. The hall is divided into two environments that correspond to two narrative moments: dreams and life, reality and fantasy. The projections in the first act represent Alberto’s time, the dream in which the tale of the artist’s youth, futuristic poetics, tragedy of the war and first success take shape: creating the sets and costumes for the Le Chant du Rossignol ballet by Stravinskij commissioned by Diaghilev, impresario of the Ballets Russes. In the second act Fortunato’s time, the reality of an unpleasant awakening. The voice in the background speaks about the failure of Le Chant du Rossignol project and disappointment in the first person, the dream of glory vanishing to form a new creative cycle, the famous “fabric marquetry”.
